Moving a lot together
We are delighted that our CSR project has been so well received and has become firmly anchored in our corporate culture across all Rieck locations. “It was important for us to involve all employees right from the start. From the idea to the selection process to the various initiatives,” explains Gunnar Jung, Managing Director. “But we were overwhelmed by the response and commitment!” Here are a few examples:
Our Rieck crew at the warehouse location in Hamburg hiked up the Brocken in the Harz mountains – with the Strava app activated, of course – and were able to collect a few hours of sport and donations. In addition, many Rieck employees support the “Round off please!” campaign and donate the rounded-off salary amounts directly to the project.
Money box on tour: This money box, which has already been eagerly filled, is located in the secretariat at Rieck’s headquarters in Großbeeren. Over the next few days, it will be traveling to all other Rieck locations – and is looking forward to every additional contribution.
Do you need specific things? Someone from the Rieck family will find it! Izabela Zerbe, Digitalization Project Manager, donated a 3D printer. It will be used as a teaching aid for new technology and as a creative alternative activity.
A team from Großbeeren not only helped to build a safe chicken enclosure. To ensure that the chicken community can be maintained in the long term, the Jugendhof has awarded chicken sponsorships. And of course: eleven sponsors for Alma, Gertrud, Henriette & Co. were quickly found in the Rieck team.
The youth farm opened its doors as part of the Brandenburger Landpartie – the Rieck crew came with a wheel of fortune, ice cream and supervised the egg race station at the farm rally. Many interested colleagues took the opportunity to experience the farm and its work up close.
Currently, 9 volunteers from 5 countries are helping at the youth farm as part of an international work camp organized by SCI-Camp. Three colleagues from Großbeeren have actively supported the construction of a pavilion for this and generally as an exchange and meeting place.
We are grateful
“It’s simply fantastic what a great dynamic has developed through this partnership,” summarizes Gunnar Jung. “A big thank you to everyone involved for their commitment.”
And we also had very tangible reasons to be happy, as we received two very special thank-you gifts:
The young people have built us a bench in the wood workshop with a lot of passion, craftsmanship and care. The handmade unique piece adorns our main entrance in Großbeeren – please take a seat.
In Hamburg, on the other hand, a self-built insect hotel has arrived. Branch manager Thorsten Horn and warehouse manager André Klante took the opportunity to personally set up the new shelter on the company premises straight away.
And what happens next? Full of enthusiasm and commitment! We are already planning Rieck-internal team events on the farm with the Jugendhof – for example with guided horse hikes – and are of course in close contact with each other to see where support is currently needed. And the best thing is: we know that we can achieve an incredible amount together as a Rieck team.
