Logistics from the ground up: Andreas Wolff started his career as a forwarding agent. In his 45 years of work, he has always remained loyal to the industry and has worked for various logistics companies such as Quandt and Hövelmann, as well as for his uncle’s forwarding company. His focus: food logistics. He is now bringing his accumulated experience to us and, as head of the refrigerated transport department, is responsible for setting up and expanding the new “temperature-controlled transportation” service.
Three facts about the new service
- We started with four of our own refrigerated trucks and currently have seven vehicles in our fleet
- All tours currently operate nationwide and in the neighboring Benelux region
- In the medium term, all national and international routes are possible
Three questions for Andreas Wolff
Why are you fascinated by the logistics industry?
Logistics is subject to constant fluctuations and therefore always remains exciting. In the past, there were mainly seasonal cycles, but today the fluctuations are almost impossible to calculate. Accordingly, even greater flexibility and responsiveness are required. This means that the work is never boring.
What is important to you in your day-to-day work and cooperation?
For me, fair cooperation and reasonable and respectful interaction are the basis. It is important to accept other opinions, even if you have a different point of view yourself. In this respect, I really appreciate the working environment and spirit at Rieck.
And how do you relax in your free time?
Spending time with my family or riding my motorcycle – often without a destination. That’s the best way for me to switch off and relax.
