Across Alps and borders…

... went by bike on the 'Tour de Rieck'. A great experience for the five colleagues - and a great result for our sports club.

With effort and 8 km/h up the mountains – with adrenaline and over 60 km/h down again. An overwhelming panorama, a variety of emotions and plenty of fun rounded off the “borderline experience” from Munich over the Brenner Pass to Lake Garda. “I’ve been riding the tour for several years and wanted to share the enriching impressions with my colleagues,” explains Tour Captain René Fichtner, Branch Manager at Rieck Fulfillment Solutions in Berlin-Schönefeld.

Four cycling enthusiasts joined the team. Due to the location, there was no training for the whole team in advance, so everyone planned and carried out their own preparation.

"It was great to get to know our colleagues from a completely different perspective. The tour definitely brought us closer together."

The Rieck company was also brought on board and – how could it be otherwise – provided logistical support: a supply vehicle not only transported the luggage to the next accommodation. Its driver Tom Polten, Head of IT, was a good soul and provided the team with provisions such as cake and fresh coffee at the agreed stops. Tools and spare parts were also always on the route – fortunately without being needed. “A huge thank you to the partners for their great all-round support – otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to organize the tour so professionally,” sums up René Fichtner.

The 'Tour de Rieck' covered a total of 373 kilometers in three stages through three countries. An impressive 2,676 meters of altitude were covered.

In addition to a starter pack, the team members received an “honorary bike bracelet” in gold – after all, everyone is a winner. “Special thanks therefore also go to the marketing team led by Kristina Bellach for their continuous and creative support,” says René Fichtner.

The bike crew not only proved their stamina and reached the finish line as planned and without any breakdowns. Of course, every single hour also counts for the virtual Rieck Sports Club. At the end of the year, they are converted into euros and donated to a good cause. The cyclists clocked up almost 90 hours in this way. We congratulate them on this great team effort and look forward to seeing where the next ‘Tour de Rieck’ will take them.
