B2C solution: Consolidation of bulky goods parcels

We like it inconvenient - we also ship large parcel shipments safely and efficiently by truck.

For many years now, it has been a matter of course for many consumers to have their orders – whether small or large – delivered directly to their home. “This trend is also noticeable for us,” explains Gunnar Jung, Managing Director of Rieck Systemspedition. “Our customers include many online retailers who expect us to deliver bulky goods to private addresses via a freight forwarding network in the same way as they are used to with a CEP service provider.” At the same time, demand from online retailers for B2B deliveries – for example to workshops or small stores – is increasing. Regardless of the recipient of a shipment, one trend is continuing: Parcel-sized goods are becoming increasingly unwieldy.

Small items of furniture and vehicle parts are shipped, as are sports equipment, bicycles and balcony power stations. The items weigh up to 50 kilograms and are sometimes over 2 meters long. Particularly important: to ensure that everything arrives protected, the right packaging is needed as well as palletization for safe handling during handling and delivery.

"For a bundling effect that benefits everyone, we combine packaging variants with individual loading aids - exactly according to our customers' goods structure."

With us, everything goes into the package

We have our own terminals for packing and picking at our forwarding locations. This is where we can score points with our expertise: For example, we have developed reusable racks for exhaust silencers or new cardboard packaging for solar modules. We can use standardized wooden boxes for some items and cardboard packaging with special dimensions for others.

“Cost-optimized shipping starts with the right packaging,” sums up Gunnar Jung. We sort the goods by country and consolidation point so that all vehicles are efficiently utilized and can reach their destinations throughout Europe. Most routes start from our headquarters in Großbeeren near Berlin. Increasingly, we are also implementing transports across Europe for our customers – whether from the Czech Republic to Austria or from Poland to France. All of Europe. In bulk. And always efficiently.

Managing Director Gunnar Jung shows that goods that can be packaged are becoming increasingly unwieldy.
