Ulm, August 28, 2015 – New “Wiesel” swap body pallet truck for the Rieck Logistics Group: It is already the 1,000th vehicle of this type to be delivered by KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH. The ceremonial handover took place on August 28 at the manufacturer’s plant in Ulm. The invited Rieck representatives received the vehicle in person.
Rieck’s purchase is a response to the continuously increasing volume of goods. The logistics company has been relying on a “Wiesel” since 2005 in order to carry out internal transportation efficiently and quickly at its headquarters in the GVZ Berlin-Süd. The special vehicle with hydraulic lifting equipment specializes in transporting swap bodies and manoeuvring semi-trailers and trailers. Thanks to its hydrostatic drive, the “Wiesel” is extremely low-maintenance. This has proven itself in daily 21-hour continuous operation at Rieck. Compared to conventional transport technology, this means considerable time savings. “Without our ‘Wiesel’, we would no longer be able to guarantee the internal transport processes and tight time windows in system forwarding,” says Wolfgang Stadler, authorized signatory and long-distance transport manager at Rieck.
