Hamburg, April 27, 2017 – From April 23 to 25, the Rieck Logistics Group hosted the tenth annual general meeting (AGM) of the logistics network Tandem Global Logistics in Hamburg. Rieck is a founding member of the worldwide cooperation network of independent logistics service providers. At the annual meeting, all members agreed to increase the growth of recent years in a targeted manner by designing digital processes.

Through Tandem Global Logistics, Rieck has been handling LCL and FCL by sea and air freight in over 75 countries since 2007. Within the network, Rieck is the partner for Germany. Worldwide, 13 co-partners and 60 other contractual partners with over 200 agencies ensure a nationwide logistics network with a focus on sea and air freight. “One advantage of the network is the cooperation with permanent partners,” says Frank Rottmann-Simon, Managing Director at Rieck Sea Air Cargo International. “This cooperation promotes business development and allows the member companies to pursue uniform strategies and quality standards.” Through Tandem, Rieck has developed established sea and air freight trade lanes to countries including the USA, South Africa, Egypt and the Middle East. Overall, the international transport volume of Rieck Sea Air Cargo International has increased by 60 percent since the network was founded.

Digitalization for further growth

At the annual meeting, the 13 partner companies meet with the aim of defining future developments and strategies for the logistics network. Under the motto “Change”, 150 guests, including the Tandem shareholders, partners and interested parties, gathered in Hamburg this year. Rieck Sea Air Cargo International organized and managed the event. “We have developed and built up the network over the last ten years,” says Frank Rottmann-Simon. “Now we want to continue this growth sustainably.” A key outcome of the AGM was therefore the future standardization of the IT processes of all participating companies and the design of joint online platforms. As the partner with the strongest growth, the Tandem member from Peru was also presented with the internal Business Development Award during the AGM. The next Tandem Global Logistics AGM will take place in Vancouver in 2018.
