Berlin, September 2, 2015 – Manufacturers of household and consumer electronics will be presenting their latest products at the International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin from September 4 to 9. A well-known manufacturer from China is relying on Rieck’s logistics services for the fifth time.
The trade fair starts at the beginning of September, but Rieck is already busy with preparations weeks in advance: The logistics specialist imports two 40-foot containers full of refrigerators and
LCD televisions by sea freight from China, while Rieck brings other appliances by truck from production sites in Germany, France and Poland as well as by air freight from Las Vegas and Thailand. Just in time for the start of IFA, all the products are on display in Berlin – brought and set up by the Rieck trade fair logistics team.
One trade fair and back
When the sea freight containers arrive at the port of Hamburg, Rieck Sea Air Cargo takes care of customs clearance and organizes the transport to Berlin. Here, the Rieck trade fair team unloads the containers and removes the outer packaging. Together with the shipments brought forward from Europe, the USA and Thailand, the exhibition equipment and merchandising articles, Rieck brings the products to the exhibition grounds. The logistics specialists assemble the exhibits on pedestals in the respective halls. If a piece of equipment is damaged during the trade fair, Rieck immediately replaces it with a new one – replacements are stored on the premises of Rieck Projekt Kontrakt Logistik Berlin.
When the IFA closes on 9 September, Rieck is ready for dismantling: the trade fair team provides special packaging material, packs the devices professionally and organizes the return transport. The most valuable prototypes travel back to China, while the other appliances are sent to the customer’s headquarters throughout Europe.
