Rieck brings Bavaria to Berlin

Berlin, January 19, 2016. When the Free State of Bavaria presents itself at the International Green Week from January 15 to 24, Bavarian veal sausage and beer are a matter of course. And it goes almost as much without saying that Rieck will be providing the logistics for the Bavarian trade fair stands.

Every year in January, national and international companies present their products and services at the trade fair in Berlin: The Green Week is the industry meeting place for gastronomy, trade, business and agricultural experts as well as a popular consumer event. One highlight is the Bavarian Hall: the Berlin-based Rieck Logistics Group is already working for some exhibitors for the 25th time – for example for the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry and for the Bavarian Dairy Industry Association.

In Hall 22b, Bavaria fans will get their money’s worth: 62 exhibitors will be showing what the Free State has to offer in terms of cuisine, tourism and agriculture on around 2,400 square meters. The Rieck team transported all the building materials for “Heimatküche”, “Wirtsgarten” and all the other stands – a total of ten Rieck trucks brought stand equipment and food from Bavaria to Berlin from the end of December to mid-January.

An entire truck train was reserved for beer from the Rosenheim district, with around 80 percent of the beer consumed in the Bayernhalle coming from AuerBräu, Flötzinger Bräu and Schlossbrauerei Maxlrain. To keep the famous Bavarian beer flowing during the trade fair, Rieck provides supplies: every day, a truck transports 15 kegs of 50 liters each from the nearby logistics warehouse to the trade fair location. Beer plays a special role this year at the most important international trade fair for the industry: the world-famous Purity Law, the oldest valid food legislation, is celebrating its 500th anniversary.

Flexible temporary storage

In order to avoid any bottlenecks when catering to visitors, some manufacturers use containers on the exhibition grounds as temporary storage: Rieck provides a special refrigerated container for cheese specialties and other dairy products from a well-known dairy; beer from three Upper Bavarian breweries is stored in another container.
