Greater focus on private recipients
Kleinostheim – 10.03.2021. IDS Logistik GmbH is now presenting itself with a new website. In addition to the modern, clear design, the main focus was on increased focus and user-friendliness for the private recipient.
“During the planning phase of the new company website, in addition to a modern and clearly structured appearance, it was particularly important for us to focus more strongly on the rapidly growing number of private recipients. They should be able to find answers to their questions quickly and without detours thanks to intuitive user guidance,” explains IDS Managing Director Michael Bargl.
The requirements have changed
The proportion of private customer business at IDS has been rising sharply, and not just since coronavirus. IDS developed special services for this group of recipients at an early stage, such as announcing the delivery by email or text message. If they are unable to accept the ordered goods on this date, they can use a link to the IDS notification portal to select a different delivery date, issue a drop-off authorization, have their consignment delivered to a neighbor or stop the delivery.
The biggest challenge in the private customer business today is the large number of telephone inquiries from private consignees about consignments and their information about the processes and services in the general cargo sector. Evaluations of IDS website visits have shown that the homepage is used 90 percent of the time to search for consignments and is therefore used almost exclusively by private consignees. However, the old website was not geared towards private consignees and their needs, but focused primarily on the B2B business.
The solution: An intuitive website structure for a direct flow of information
In addition to an updated B2B area and an expanded careers page, the new IDS website primarily addresses the needs of B2C recipients – including a modern design with informative photos and moving images, a clear structure and straightforward navigation technology.
In addition to intuitive user guidance, a self-service area for private recipients has been implemented, which provides answers to frequently asked questions, a glossary and contact forms, for example. The shipment tracking for private consignees has also been revised, formulated and presented in a more comprehensible way.
Another new feature on the IDS homepage is access to other IDS communication channels: Above all, this includes links to the IDS social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Xing. IDS has been increasingly active here since last year and is gaining more and more followers. In addition, an IDS online newsletter will be launched in the second quarter – as a supplement to the customer magazine IDS facts. You can register for this via the IDS homepage.
In addition to the complete redesign of the content, the website has also been adapted to the latest technical possibilities: It is easier to find via search engines and can be used flawlessly on all end devices.
“In particular, we hope that the new website will significantly reduce the 1,400 or so telephone service inquiries we currently receive every day. But of course we also want to draw even more attention to vacant jobs at IDS, attract readers to our newsletter and, last but not least, of course, get more and better Google ratings thanks to the service experienced on the website,” says Michael Bargl, summarizing the goals of the new website.
