New recycling center opened

Neuss, November 9, 2015 – Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik is continuing to expand its services: In late summer, it opened a recycling center to complement its existing range of services. The company is thus continuing to expand its range of services for its customers: a year ago, Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik put a state-of-the-art channel baling plant into operation a year ago.

At the new central recycling center, private individuals, tradespeople and businesses can dispose of recyclable materials such as paper, PE film, batteries and fluorescent tubes easily and free of charge; Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik disposes of many other types of waste such as mixed construction waste or waste wood there at favorable conditions. “With the recycling center for self-disposal, we offer a practical alternative to providing containers,” says Operations Manager Daniel Berens. “Customers have already responded very well to the new service in the first few weeks. They appreciate being able to dispose of their waste flexibly and as required. Fair prices, good accessibility and our friendly service certainly contribute to this.”

Certified quality

The recycling center was successfully certified, as were the recycling warehouse and the channel baling plant: On October 22, SVG Zertifizierungsdienst GmbH once again awarded the site the EfbV § 3 – 11 certificate for the activities of “collecting, transporting, storing, handling, trading and brokering”. Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik received its first certificate as a specialist waste management company back in 1999, and since then the company has undergone a strict inspection by the recognized certifier every year.

22,000 tons of recyclables pressed

The success of the targeted expansion of the range is reflected in the interim results of the channel baling press: more than 22,000 tons of paper and plastics were pressed into unmixed raw materials in the first year. “This means that we have almost reached the capacity limit in single-shift operation – for more volume we would run the plant in two and three-shift operation,” says Jürgen Nitsch, head of baling operations. Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik inaugurated its own compacting plant in summer 2014. Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik has now entered the export business by returning recyclable materials to the raw materials cycle: the first 40 sea containers were recently loaded.
