Großbeeren near Berlin, December 16, 2014: Aleksander Schromek (65), who has been Managing Director of Rieck Systemspedition since 2003, is retiring at the end of the year. He has been with the company for over 46 years.
As an expert in international relations, Aleksander Schromek played a decisive role in the expansion of transportation to Eastern and Western Europe at Rieck. These business relationships have resulted in close and trusting partnerships over decades. His team developed innovative solutions for international supply chains for numerous customers. Schromek was one of the founding members of the steering committee of the IDS general cargo cooperation.

Once Rieck – always Rieck
Aleksander Schromek joined the then Essen branch of Rieck as an apprentice on August 1, 1968. The young forwarding agent stayed with the company after his final exams and moved to the head office in Berlin in 1973 at the request of the management. Here he made company history by setting up the “International Department”.
In 1976, Aleksander Schromek was granted power of attorney, in 1984 he became Head of International Forwarding and General Proxy for Rieck & Söhne, Berlin, and in 1997 Branch Manager of the company. In 2003, he was appointed Managing Director of Ulrich Rieck & Söhne Internationale Speditionsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG, Großbeeren; he still holds this position today.
