Major progress in Oberkrämer

The shell has been erected, the loading gates have been installed, painting work is underway and the interior work is underway: The new, modern logistics facility in Oberkrämer, Brandenburg, north of Berlin, is rapidly approaching completion.

Rieck’s new freight forwarding facility at VGP Park Berlin-Oberkrämer in north-west Berlin is being built at a cost of around 26 million euros. It is scheduled to go into operation in November 2022 after a construction phase of just under a year. Around 80 new jobs will be created – a few are still vacant. Apply now!

Ecological, flexible, efficient

The new Rieck terminal has around 23,000 square meters of floor space. Around half of the space is intended for handling shipments, 8,000 square meters for storage and 3,000 square meters for offices. A total of 111 loading and unloading gates ensure a smooth flow of goods.

A solar roof will produce green electricity for the operation of the plant and, in the long term, for the vehicle fleet. Any surplus can be fed into the local power grid. The planned charging infrastructure is also impressive: Charging stations for cars and dedicated 180 kW e-charging stations for trucks are planned.

The new logistics center will make forwarding processes in the entire Berlin area more efficient. Rieck is reorganizing the delivery area in the forwarding sector: In future, the north of Berlin will be supplied from Oberkrämer – correspondingly, 25 percent of the volumes will be transferred from Großbeeren to Oberkrämer at the start. For partners, customers and Rieck, this means shorter distances and more flexibility for further growth. Rieck is also taking over new sub-areas for IDS from Oberkrämer.
